Head Trainer Karla Brehm
Karla’s love of horses started at a very young age, by the age of 9 Karla had gotten her first horse. Mary was an OTTB who was 2yrs old and had a rough life prior to coming to Karla’s family farm. Thoroughbreds like Mary make great horses if you take your time and have a gentle hand with them. They have a tremendous heart, athleticism, and want to please their owners. Karla and Mary trained with some amazing Hunter/Jumper trainers along with Eventing coaches throughout NE Ohio and PA. They traveled to George Morris clinics and also down to Aiken SC for clinics.
Mary and Karla trained and made it to Novice level before Mary was bred to National Champion TS Black Tie Affair which yielded a Colt. Karla started and trained Calvin in order to help pay for her college.
During the time Mary was bred Karla started riding and showing Arabians on the OHAHA, ARHA and AHA circuits with her Polish Arabian and NSH. Karla has won State, Regional Championships in Western Horsemanship in 1998 and 99, top 10 in the region for Hunter/Jumpers USEF level 1 jumper, qualified for Nationals 7 times and earning top ten at Nationals in Western Horsemanship and in Reining for youth Nationals. Karla has trained and ridden Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Reining, Hunter/Jumpers and Saddleseat.
Karla went on to receive her Bachelors degree in Equine Animal Science while focusing on Hunter/Jumpers throughout college. She has her Bachelors in Dental Hygiene and a Bachelors in Nursing. She is married to a Columbus Fireman who is also a ER RN and they have two amazing children who love their ponies Mickey and Fisherman. Karla’s focus is now on training Dressage in order to earn her USDF Bronze and Silver Medals.

Ready to Ride?
Our Mission
Front-Line Farm was created to help ensure the safety of riding while learning the correct way to form a partnership between rider and horse in order to succeed with individual goals. Where people get their start with horses can set them up for success in their future or impinge it. How you learn to ride and handle a horse can be very unsafe for horse and rider if you do not get the proper foundation.
"Horses should be trained in such a way that they not only love their riders, but look forward to the time they are with them."
- Xenophon, 350 B.C.
